			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Vermont Residential Building Energy Standard (RBES) affects all new homes (and additions more than 500 square feet) built after July 1, 1998.</p>
<p>The RBES has just been revised as of July 1, 2011. Revisions will take effect October 1, 2011 and &#8220;shall apply to construction commenced on and after the date they become effective.&#8221;</p>
<p>RBES applies to all new residential construction, including additions, alterations, renovations, and repairs.</p>
